Stamped cube

This cube was assembled out of square slabs. Each slab was rolled out with a rolling pin, then cut to the shape of a square newspaper template. Then, using my stamps, I decorated each square. Then I waited for the squares to dry and stiffen up somewhat.

I scored the areas to be joined, then assembled the box, pinching the joints together and and adding a coil to the inside of the joint for extra strength.

During drying, the box was dried under plastic and flipped often so that all areas dried evenly to prevent cracking (right-side up to dry the inside, upside-down to keep the rim from drying too quickly).
